We are incredibly proud of our team at GJD Manufacturing Ltd.
We are habitual innovators, it’s in our blood. Security is at the heart of all we do; GJD understands that you’re putting your reputation on the line when you recommend and install one of our presence detectors, illuminators or ANPR systems. We’re the most reliable choice you can make.
Based in Heywood, Greater Manchester, we have over 32 years’ experience in the security industry. We take great pride in developing new, innovative designs; utilising the latest technology and implementing state-of-the-art manufacturing techniques.
Dr Rod Wilson PhD, BSc
AVA Group, General Manager and CTO
With over 30 years of expertise in high-tech product development within military, security, and safety sectors, Dr. Rod brings a wealth of experience. Formerly CTO at Metrasens Ltd, he spearheaded the creation of innovative ferromagnetic-based metal detector technologies. As VP Products at Smiths Detection, Rod shaped product strategy, oversaw substantial development initiatives, and managed significant supply contracts.
Keith Fenwick
Technical Director
Keith has a BSc (Hons) degree in Physical Electronics and a post graduate MSc in Optoelectronics, specialising in IR lasers and particle light scattering. He has over twenty five years experience in the Fire and Security industry. Also, five year's experience working in South Korea for LG Electronics. In his spare time he enjoys restoring MG sports cars and photography.
Chris Moore
Technical Director - Detection
Chris initially started on a two-month temporary role in 1988 and he is the longest serving member of staff. His technical background in electronics, research skills, computer proficiency and security knowledge has made him an integral part of the company. Chris has had a variety of roles within the R&D department, including taking new product ideas, creating the design, building prototype units and testing.
Gary Williams
Global Application Lead
Gary joined GJD in 2018 as a Technical Support Advisor. He has worked in the security industry for over 22 years and has extensive experience in the design, installation and maintenance of GJD’s security equipment. Previously, Gary had an internal technical sales role at a global security company. This included training internal sales teams across Europe and South Africa. He has also worked in a variety of technical leadership roles for the NSI, Bafe and SSAIB accredited security installation companies.
Alison Topp
Company Secretary
Alison joined GJD in 2004 as the Financial Controller and brings two decades of experience in the manufacturing industry. During her tenure, she has also undergone HR and leadership training, enriching her expertise in supporting both staff and directors. Outside of work, Alison enjoys woodworking, gardening, and reading.
Ben Lea
Regional UK Sales Manager
Ben is GJD’s regional UK Sales Manager for North England, Ireland, and Scotland. Ben has many years of experience in the security industry. Previously working as a sales engineer for one of the largest security distributors in the industry. He has also worked in the security installation sector, helping customers design solutions from initial concept to completion. He has a keen eye for detail and is able to use his expertise and product knowledge to specify robust perimeter protection solutions.
James Bundock
Regional UK Sales Manager
James is GJD's regional UK Sales Manager for the southern half of the UK. James has many years experience in the security and structured cabling industry at distribution and vendor level and enjoys working, collaborating and delivering solutions with end users, installers & integrators and wholesalers. He has a BA in History & Politics and in his spare time watches rugby at Harlequins FC where he has had a season ticket for over 20 years and coaches a junior side at Crawley RFC
Stephen Jordan
Internal Sales Manager
Stephen serves as a key link between the customer, external sales team, purchasing, production and finance. As one of the longest serving members of staff, he started with the company in a temporary sales role when it was based in Bolton and stayed with GJD when it relocated to its current site at Heywood. Stephen furthered his qualification from a HND to upper second-class degree in Business Studies. He is an excellent team player and is crucial to the success of the company.
Lynsey Turner
Internal Sales Executive
Lynsey joined GJD in 2022, collaborating with Stephen in Internal Sales. With more than 10 years of experience in the manufacturing sector, she possesses strong business management skills and a keen focus on customer service. Lynsey is a valuable team player, eager to contribute to the company's global growth. In her free time, she is an avid animal lover and passionate writer, currently working towards publishing her first book.
Jenny Brant
Global Marketing Director
Jenny is a strategic, solutions-focused marketing professional with global experience across leading organisations in Sport, Technology, FMCG, and Banking. Known for challenging the status quo, she consistently seeks innovative marketing approaches and is passionate about driving impact, business growth, and evolving how companies deliver value to their customers
Guy Woodcock
Marketing Manager
With over 15 years’ experience in various industries, including medical, manufacturing, insurance, distribution, and now the security sector. Guy brings a heavily content brand of marketing with him, with a particular focus on digital marketing and building long lasting relationships.
A keen golfer, and if you have been to any of the industry golf days, you may have spotted Guy wearing a variety of brightly coloured and flamboyant trousers.
Lizzie Lake
Graphic Designer
Lizzie joined GJD in 2013 as a graduate in Graphic Design. With over 11 years of experience at the company, she has collaborated closely with the marketing team on numerous projects, playing a crucial role in establishing GJD's outstanding reputation in the security industry. In her free time, Lizzie enjoys spending quality days out with her family and is a passionate artist and crafter.
