The NFU Mutual Crimes Report 2025 tells us that the agricultural sector has been hit by £44m worth of theft in 2024, which has shown a 16.5% year-on-year decrease. While this is obviously positive, and can be put down to the work of the NFU and the National Rural Crime Unit (NRCU), which has been runnings.

However, despite the improvement, £44m is still a significant sum and if you are one of the farms targeted the damage done can far exceed the simple financial cost.
